Caroline Watson is Gorvins representative for Northamptonshire Police Federation.
Caroline is a Partner and the manager of the Milton Keynes Family Department.
Caroline gives clear and constructive advice whilst understanding the emotional and practical issues of family breakdown. Caroline is a member of Resolution, an organisation of over 5,000 lawyers and family justice professionals who believe in a non-confrontational approach to family law matters. If a case cannot, however, be settled through negotiation, Caroline is an experienced family court advocate.
Caroline has a wide range of experience advising on divorce, formal separations, dissolution of civil partnerships, breakdown of cohabitation, domestic violence and children matters.
Caroline is responsible for referrals from the Northampton and Metropolitan Police Federations. Caroline has been representing police officers and staff for over three years and as a result has detailed knowledge of police pay and benefits, particularly dealing with the pension on divorce. Caroline regularly attends Northampton County Court, The Principal Registry and other County Courts in the London Boroughs. This therefore gives her the benefit of knowing how the courts operate and how the individual judges deal with their cases.
Caroline's recent work includes:
- Representing a client with substantial assets and advising on the contents of an actuaries report obtained on the police pension;
- Acting for a high-ranking police officer in a complicated divorce and successful application for residence of his two daughters;
- Advising a client in ancillary relief proceedings involving third party interests, the variation of a post-marriage settlement and inheritances received by one party prior to and during the marriage;
- Advising a wealthy client with children from a previous marriage on the terms of a cohabitation contract, followed by the drafting on a pre-nuptial agreement 6 months later.
Caroline has a wide range of experience dealing with divorce and financial matters following the breakdown of a marriage and co-habitation. Caroline specialises in Children Act proceedings.
