Chris Longbottom is the representative for the Humberside police federation

Chris is an Associate Solicitor in the Family Department based at Stockport, having joined the firm in December 2007. 

Chris deals exclusively with family work and areas of police representation including divorce, financial matters, police pensions and children issues.


He is committed to reaching the best possible outcome for his clients and uses his negotiation skills and a non-confrontational approach where possible. Chris is, however, mindful that not all matters can be resolved by these methods and has the ability and resources to take the necessary action using the relevant court procedures. 

Chris is responsible for referrals from the Northumbria, Humberside and West Yorkshire Police Federations and has built up a good rapport with the federations to ensure he achieves the best possible service for his clients.
 
Although now based in the North West, Chris was ‘born and bred’ in West Yorkshire with most of his family living in that area. Having started his career as a Solicitor in Yorkshire, Chris has strong links with the area and has appeared in Courts all over the County. Chris is passionate about his roots and is very proud of having represented his town, Bradford and Yorkshire at Rugby League during his youth.
 
Chris’ recent work includes:
 
·         Representing the mother of a young child for the immediate return of her baby following the removal of the child from her care without her consent;
·         Representing an officer with 30 years service in relation to matrimonial finances, who was already in receipt of his pension and commutation and achieving an out-of-court settlement through negotiation;

·         Representing a range of officers in relation to divorce, children and complex matrimonial finances including pensions; 

·         Representing a Chief Inspector and advising them regarding children issues in respect of their grand-daughter.
